Be Careful When You Make Deal Online On OLX

Hello, Guys This article specially for online buyers who purchase mostly online stuff okay so let’s start.

There is a group on OLX Pakistan they post different types of ads without any phone number and they usually chat via OLX messenger.
First, they gain your trust like they are the real seller and also send you fake pictures of product (copy images from google) which you are trying to purchase.

Why I post this article?

Recently I got scam by a Pakistani OLX scammer group. I don’t want they rip anymore, people around here must know about them and save the money.

Here is my story:

I was looking for used beats headphone, after a lot of searches I found an add, and I try to contact the seller via phone but the seller does not provide the phone number, so I send him a message via OLX messenger, and he responded, you guys can see all OLX conversation below:

You guys can see in screenshots that scammer told me a fake address and after the deal, he remove the account, wow that’s easy, rip someone, remove the old account and join again with a new account, a new name for the next target, sounds crazy.

During Deal, I try to pay him via bank transfer, but he did not agree, he wants me to pay via jazz cash. (i will include his jazz cash number at the end)

Here is my whats-app chat with that scammer:

He received jazz cash on this number account: 03087855483
He sends me Pictures of a fake pack box, so I think all okay.

So I send him cash via jazz cash on his provided number, after receiving the money he set divert on his mobile number, I ignore that because I thought tomorrow I would receive my headphone, so it’s okay.
Next day I receive a package from M&P courier service and I open the box and shocked.
What I found inside?
A pair of old speakers worth of 300 Pkr to 400 Pkr.

Today I found his one new account and Yesterday he posted a new ad you can see in the screenshot below phone number is not included in add and he mention hasilpur as location.

So Guys Be careful during any online deal in Pakistan because nowadays fraud in Pakistan everywhere.

Scammers Behavior:
1: He will never provide you his real details like if you want to make payment via bank transfer, he will never offer you his bank account (bank account can be traced).
2: Surely he will provide you his fake address.
3: Nonverifiable mobile number (black number).
4: Consistently does not answer phone calls, whats-app or OLX chat.
5: He must sell you an expensive item at a very low price.

How to avoid fraud on OLX?
1: Use a payment method with fraud protection like bank transfer.
2: Never send money in advance.
3: The best way is meeting the seller at the safest place and deal by hand.
4: Don’t trust on provided images/videos because these can be fake.
5: Second best way for OLX deal take the seller NIC number and send him money by easy paisa or jazz cash but never send him the code before receiving the item, you can send the seller code after receiving your product.
6: If you not receive your item you can collect your money back any time by easy paisa or jazz cash (in case if you don’t tell the secret code to seller)
